Old Mill Community Association

The Old Mill Community Association maintains local vegetable plots and runs free planting workshops for gardeners of all skill levels.

About the Old Mill Community Association

The Old Mill Community Association keeps our neighbourhood green by maintaining community vegetable plots and hosting seasonal planting workshops. Whether you have a green thumb or have never grown a tomato, you are welcome to join us.

What We Do

We care for shared garden beds in the Old Mill area and teach simple gardening skills. Our volunteers prepare the soil in spring, water the crops in summer, and organize harvest days in the fall. We also share tips on composting and native plants.

When and Where We Meet

Our group meets at the Old Mill Urban Garden on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., from April to October. You can drop in anytime during these hours. No registration is needed.

How to Join

Participation is free. All you need is a willingness to get your hands dirty. If you want to help with plot maintenance, bring your own hand tools. We provide seeds, soil amendments, and basic equipment.

For more information or to volunteer, email the City's community development office at [email protected].
