The Mercer Park Pioneers is a local, scouting-style group that teaches youth aged six to sixteen outdoor survival skills and community service. Members learn how to build shelters, read maps, and care for the natural environment around Wrenford. The group also organizes regular neighbourhood clean-ups and park maintenance projects so young people can give back to their community.
Meetings are held at Mercer Park every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., year-round. There is no experience needed to join, and all necessary gear is provided. The annual membership fee is just $25, which covers insurance, program materials, and a yearly T-shirt.
To register your child or to ask questions about upcoming trips and service days, please contact the City's community development office at [email protected]. Our volunteer coordinators are happy to help you get started.
