Meadowlark Wetlands Observers

Join a volunteer group that tracks bird populations and checks water quality in the Meadowlark Wetlands.

The Meadowlark Wetlands Observers are a volunteer group that conducts bird counts and monitors water quality in the Meadowlark Wetlands. If you enjoy spending time outdoors and want to help keep our local waterways healthy, this group is for you.

We meet on the Meadowlark Wetlands Trail on Sundays from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in April, May, September, and October. The trail features boardwalks, bird watching hides, and native grasses, making it a perfect spot for fieldwork. You do not need to be a scientist to join. We welcome bird watchers, science students, and anyone curious about the environment.

There is no cost to participate. All you need is a pair of comfortable walking shoes and a notebook to record your observations. Our volunteer coordinator will show you how to use the basic monitoring tools and share tips on identifying local bird species.

To sign up or learn more about upcoming sessions, contact the City's community development office at [email protected]. We look forward to seeing you on the trail.
