Do you love model trains? The Larch Heights Model Railway Society welcomes model train enthusiasts and families to build and maintain a large-scale model train layout in the Old Mill neighbourhood. Whether you are a seasoned builder or just curious, you will find a friendly group ready to share tips and tools.
Our group hosts open house demonstrations throughout the year so you can see the layout in action. We also teach layout construction skills, from wiring and scenery to track planning. Bring your own projects to work on, or join a group build session. It is a great way to pick up new hobbies and meet neighbours.
When and where
We meet at the Old Mill Community Centre on Saturdays from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., year-round. Drop in anytime during these hours to watch the demonstrations or get started on a project.
Cost
Membership is $10 a year. This helps cover materials for the layout and facility rental fees.
How to join
To register or ask questions, contact the City's community development office at [email protected]. You do not need to reserve a spot in advance, but letting us know ahead of time helps us prepare.
