Kingfisher Youth Mental Health Allies

Peer-led mental wellness group training youth ages 13 to 19 to recognize signs of distress and support their friends.

The Kingfisher Youth Mental Health Allies program is a free, peer-led group for young people in our community. If you are between the ages of 13 and 19, this group offers a welcoming space to learn how to look out for yourself and your friends. You will be trained to recognize the early signs of mental distress and build practical skills to promote mental wellness among your peers.

The group meets at Kingfisher Park on Wednesdays from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., running from September through June. No prior experience is needed. Whether you want to help others, learn more about mental health, or just connect with other young people in the Kingfisher neighbourhood, you are welcome to join.

To find out more about the program, get on the roster, or ask questions, please reach out to the City's community development office. You can send an email to [email protected]. A community development coordinator will reply with the details you need to get involved.

This program is open to all youth in Wrenford who are looking for a supportive place to grow, learn, and make a positive difference in the lives of their friends and neighbours.
