Eastfield Settlement Support Group

Free weekly drop-in meeting for newly arrived immigrants and refugees in Eastfield to get help with paperwork and essential services.

The Eastfield Settlement Support Group is a volunteer-run initiative that helps newly arrived immigrants and refugees settle into the city. If you are navigating government paperwork, applying for housing, or trying to connect with essential health and social services, this group is here to guide you.

We meet at Eastfield Park every Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., year-round. The program is completely free and open to anyone in the newcomer community. You do not need an appointment to join us. Just drop by the park during our scheduled hours, and a volunteer coordinator will welcome you and help you find the right resources.

Our volunteers speak several languages and can assist with things like Social Insurance Number applications, setting up bank accounts, school registration, and accessing Tamsin Valley Public Health services. We also host monthly information sessions on tenant rights and navigating the Ontario public transit system.

To get in touch with the group, or to learn more about volunteering with us, please contact the City's community development office at [email protected].
