Looking for a way to explore the outdoors with a friendly group? The Benchlands Lookout Hikers organize weekly group hikes on the local trails and lookouts. This volunteer-run group welcomes hikers of all fitness levels, whether you are new to the trails or a seasoned walker.
Meetings take place at the Benchlands Lookout Trailhead, just off Benchlands Drive. The group gathers at 8:00 a.m. every Saturday, year-round. Hikes usually cover a few kilometres along the Benchlands escarpment, offering great views of the Tamsin River and the falls below.
There is no cost to join the group or participate in the hikes. You just need to bring comfortable walking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, and a water bottle. The group does not provide equipment, so please plan accordingly.
To get involved or find out more about upcoming routes, contact the City's community development office at [email protected]. They can connect you with the group's volunteer coordinator and share any seasonal trail updates.
