Ashgrove Gardeners' Guild

A volunteer group for seniors to care for local flower beds and share gardening knowledge.

Want to spend your afternoons outdoors and meet neighbours with the same interests? The Ashgrove Gardeners' Guild is a volunteer group for seniors who enjoy horticulture. You will help maintain community flower beds around the Ashgrove neighbourhood and swap gardening tips with fellow members.

Meetings are held every Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. between May and October. The group gathers at the Ashgrove Community Centre to plan seasonal planting, discuss care techniques, and coordinate volunteer shifts. All skill levels are welcome, from experienced gardeners to those just starting out.

There is no cost to join. You only need a willingness to get your hands dirty and enjoy the outdoors. Bring your own gardening gloves and tools if you have them, though basic supplies are often available.

To sign up or learn more about upcoming planting days, contact the City's community development office at [email protected].
