Looking for a creative way to spend your morning? The Ambrel Lake Watercolor Group is a weekly painting circle where members practice watercolour techniques, share critiques, and complete seasonal themed projects. Whether you are picking up a brush for the first time or have a few years of experience under your belt, this group welcomes adults with beginner to intermediate painting skills.
Meetings take place at the Ambrel Lake Community Centre. You can drop in on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., year-round. Bring your own paints, brushes, and paper, or ask the group about local suppliers. The cost is $5 per session, which covers the room rental and shared materials like water cups and cleaning supplies. All participants are welcome to enjoy the relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
Many members find inspiration in Wrenford's natural surroundings, from the Tamsin River to the Benchlands escarpment. You can bring your sketches from local parks or focus on still-life arrangements set up during the meeting. The group also organizes occasional outings to capture the changing seasons on canvas.
