2022 Water Main Replacement: Industrial Park East
The City of Wrenford is pleased to confirm that the water main replacement project in the Industrial Park East neighbourhood has been successfully completed. This initiative was part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining reliable and safe drinking water infrastructure for all residents and businesses.
Work began in early 2022, involving the excavation and removal of aging cast iron pipes that had reached the end of their service life. These older lines were replaced with new ductile iron and PVC mains, significantly reducing the risk of future breaks and improving water pressure throughout the zone. The project covered the primary arteries serving the industrial sector, ensuring that critical infrastructure supports both current operations and future growth.
During the construction period, residents and business owners were asked to be patient with temporary road closures and noise. We appreciate your cooperation as our crews worked to complete the upgrades on schedule. All disturbed asphalt and landscaping have been restored to their original condition.
If you experienced a temporary loss of water pressure or noticed discoloured water during the active construction phase, please allow your taps to run cold for a few minutes until the water runs clear. This helps flush any remaining sediment from your internal plumbing.
For those interested in the technical details of this project, the full engineering report and as-built drawings are available upon request through our public records office. If you have questions about how these upgrades affect your specific property line or water service connection, please contact the Water & Wastewater department.
