Tamarack senior transit pass
Welcome to the 2019 eligibility and distribution process for the Tamarack senior pass. This initiative is designed to make [[Transit fares and passes]] more affordable for older residents in the Tamarack neighbourhood and across the city. If you are a resident of Wrenford aged 65 or older, you may qualify for this reduced-fare program.
Eligibility requirements
To receive a Tamarack senior pass, you must be a permanent resident of the City of Wrenford and be at least 65 years of age by December 31, 2019. You must provide proof of age and residency. Acceptable documents include a valid Ontario driver’s licence, an Ontario photo card, or a utility bill showing your current address. If you live in a long-term care facility, a letter from the facility administrator confirming your residency is sufficient.
Application and distribution
The application period for the 2019 Tamarack pass runs from January 2, 2019, to March 31, 2019. You can apply in person at the City Hall service counter or by mail. Applications received after the deadline will not be processed for the 2019 fiscal year. Please allow two weeks for processing once your application is submitted.
Passes will be distributed in person at designated locations in the Tamarack neighbourhood. The distribution dates are as follows:
- February 15, 2019: 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Tamarack Community Centre.
- February 20, 2019: 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Wrenford Public Library, Main Branch.
If you cannot collect your pass during these times, you may authorise someone else to pick it up on your behalf. They must bring a signed letter from you and their own photo identification. You can also request that your pass be mailed to you for a small administrative fee of $5.00. To request mail delivery, check the appropriate box on the application form and include a cheque or money order payable to the City of Wrenford.
Using your pass
The Tamarack senior pass provides unlimited rides on local bus routes within the City of Wrenford. It is not valid for [[Charter bus service requests]] or intercity travel. Remember to show your pass to the driver each time you board. If you lose your pass, you must report it to [[Wrenford 311]] immediately. A replacement pass can be issued for a fee of $10.00.
