Tamarack snow route ban

As part of the City of Wrenford’s commitment to keeping our roads clear and safe during the winter months, a snow route parking ban is in effect for the Tamarack neighbourhood. This by-law ensures that snow clearing equipment can operate efficiently without obstruction. Residents must remove all vehicles from the designated streets to allow for timely plowing and salting.

When the ban is active

The parking restrictions apply whenever snow accumulation reaches 5 centimetres or more, or when snow clearing operations are actively underway. During the 2021 season, this typically occurs between November 1, 2021, and April 30, 2022. You must move your vehicle before the posted signs are displayed or as directed by City staff. If you leave your car on a snow route during an active ban, it may be towed at your expense.

Exemptions

If you have a medical condition or mobility issue that prevents you from moving your vehicle, you may apply for a parking ban exemption. This permit allows you to keep your vehicle parked on the snow route during active clearing operations. To apply, please use the online portal to [[Apply for a snow route parking ban exemption |apply for your exemption]]. Applications must be submitted before the winter season begins to ensure your permit is ready by November 1, 2021. Please note that exemptions are granted on a first-come, first-served basis and are valid for the entire winter season only.

Reporting issues

If you see a vehicle blocking a snow route during an active ban, or if you notice a street light that is not functioning and making it difficult to see parking signs, please report it immediately. You can call Wrenford 311 or use our online reporting tools. To report a street light issue, visit [[Report a street light issue |Report a street light issue]]. For any other road concerns, such as potholes that may have developed during the thaw, see [[Report a pothole |Report a pothole]].
