Report a missed garbage pickup
If your garbage or recycling bins were not collected on your scheduled day, you can submit a request for collection through the City of Wrenford’s online booking page. This service is available to all residents in the single-tier city, from Downtown to Wildrye.
Before you submit a request
Wait until the end of your collection day. Collection trucks often run behind schedule due to traffic, weather, or high volume. If your bin was not emptied by 8:00 p.m. on your scheduled day, it is considered a missed pickup.
How to report it
Visit the Garbage & Recycling booking page on the City website. You will need to provide the following information:
- Your full address, including the neighbourhood (e.g., Riverside Flats, Larch Heights, or Industrial Park East).
- Your name and contact phone number. Use your mobile or home line. The main line 519-555-0100 is for general inquiries, but for this specific report, use the number associated with your account.
- The type of bin not collected (garbage, recycling, or organics).
- A brief description of the issue (e.g., "Bin was full and accessible," or "Bin was blocked by snow.").
What happens next
Once you submit the form, you will receive a confirmation email to the address on file. A city worker will review your request. If the pickup was indeed missed, a crew will be dispatched to collect your bin. This usually happens within one to two business days. You do not need to put your bin out again unless instructed to do so in your confirmation email.
Important rules
To ensure your bin is collected, make sure it meets the following requirements:
- The bin must be placed at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on your collection day.
- Do not overfill the bin. The lid must close completely.
- Ensure there is at least one metre of space on either side of the bin for the truck arm to operate.
- Remove any snow, ice, or debris that blocks access to the bin.
If your request is denied
If your request is denied, it is likely because the bin did not meet the city’s by-law requirements. Common reasons include the bin being placed out too early, the lid not closing, or the bin being inaccessible. If you believe this is an error, call Wrenford 311 at 519-555-0111. A service representative can review your case and explain the decision.
