Corporate identity and branding policy

Guidelines for using the City of Wrenford's name, logo, colours and templates so all communications look official and consistent.

What this policy covers

This policy sets out the rules for using the City of Wrenford's name, logo, colours and templates. It applies to all city staff, boards, committees and agencies that speak on behalf of the City. The Wrenford Police Service and the Wrenford Public Library keep their own approved branding, but they follow these rules when they mention the City or use City facilities.

Always use the full official name, City of Wrenford, when writing reports, official letters or public notices. Use the short name, Wrenford, in casual communication and on social media. Do not change the logo, stretch it or put it on merchandise without written approval from the Communications Manager. The logo must stay on a clear background so it is easy to read.

Colours and fonts

Use the City's approved colour palette in all printed and digital materials. The main colours are Wrenford Blue, River Grey and Falls Gold. Do not introduce new colours that could confuse residents about who is speaking. Use the City-approved typefaces for all reports, flyers and website pages. If you need a custom font for a special project, ask the Communications Manager.

Templates and letterheads

All official documents must use the current City letterhead or report template. Templates are stored on the City intranet under Brand Assets. When you send an email from a city account, the signature block must include your name, title, department and the City's main line. Do not create your own email signature or document cover page.

Social media and digital content

City accounts on Facebook, X, Instagram and other platforms must use the verified City profile. Posts must follow the City's tone of voice guide and use the standard hashtags. Staff who manage departmental accounts must log in using the City's secure system. Never post campaign material or personal opinions on City channels.

Exceptions and approvals

If you need to use the City's name or logo for a special event, a partnership or a grant application, submit a Brand Use Request form to the Communications Manager. Requests are reviewed within five business days. The City does not charge a fee for standard use, but large-scale commercial projects may require a licensing agreement.
