Register for a volunteer shift

Do you want to give back to your community? The City of Wrenford welcomes residents who wish to support our local services. Whether you are interested in helping at the Fallsview Community Centre, assisting with park clean-ups in Riverside Flats, or supporting administrative tasks in Downtown, there is a place for you. We are looking for dedicated individuals to join our volunteer workforce.

What you need to know

Before you sign up, please ensure you meet the basic requirements. You must be at least eighteen years of age. If you are under eighteen, you must have written consent from a parent or guardian. All volunteers must be able to communicate clearly in English or French. You must also be physically capable of performing the duties associated with the specific role you choose.

We require all volunteers to pass a criminal record check. This is a standard safety measure to protect our residents and staff. You will need to provide your full legal name and date of birth to complete this process. The City covers the cost of the check for you, but you must submit your information promptly.

How to register

Registration is handled through the Volunteer Booking Page. This online portal allows you to view available shifts across all neighbourhoods, from Ambrel Lake to Northgate. You can filter opportunities by department, day of the week, and time commitment. Once you find a shift that suits your schedule, you can reserve your spot directly through the form.

If you prefer to register in person, you may visit the Volunteer Coordination Office. The office is located in the City Hall building in Downtown Wrenford. You can speak with a staff member to discuss your interests and get help navigating the system. The office is open Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

You can also call the main information line at 519-555-0100 if you have questions about the registration process. For specific inquiries about departmental needs, you may email the relevant department at {dept}@wrenford.ca. Please allow two business days for a response.

What happens after you sign up

Once you have submitted your registration, you will receive a confirmation email. This email will contain your volunteer ID number and instructions for your first shift. You must bring your volunteer ID and a valid photo identification document to your first appointment. You will also be asked to sign a volunteer agreement that outlines the code of conduct and safety protocols.

Volunteers are expected to arrive ten minutes early for their shift. This allows time for check-in and any necessary briefings. If you cannot make your scheduled shift, you must cancel your registration at least twenty-four hours in advance. This helps the City plan staffing effectively and ensures that other volunteers have the opportunity to participate.

We appreciate your time and effort. Your contribution helps keep Wrenford a vibrant and welcoming place for everyone. Thank you for choosing to serve your city.
