Community arts and culture grants

Learn how non-profit groups and community organisations can apply for municipal funding to run arts projects and festivals in Wrenford.

What this grant programme covers

The Wrenford Community Arts and Culture Grant Programme helps non-profit groups and community organisations bring creative projects to life. Whether you are planning a local festival at Benchlands Lookout Park, a workshop series at Fallsview Arts Centre, or a cultural showcase at Old Mill Museum & Archives, this grant supports projects that actively engage the public and grow the creative arts in our city.

What can be funded

  • Arts-related projects, activities, or events that are educational or participatory
  • Multi-day festivals and major community celebrations
  • Programs that develop the arts, support local artists, or increase public access to culture

What cannot be funded

Applications that ask for funding for the following will not be considered:

  • Building repairs, renovations, or equipment purchases
  • Operating costs or general administrative expenses
  • Events that are primarily for fundraising or that offer free or discounted tickets
  • For-profit businesses or projects that primarily benefit a single individual
  • Retroactive funding for events that have already happened
  • Deficits, debts, scholarships, or endowment contributions

Who can apply

Any non-profit organisation or registered community group based in Wrenford is eligible. You must be able to demonstrate that your organisation has the capacity to manage the project and the funds, including clear programming, financial reporting, and staffing plans. If your group has received City funding in the past and failed to submit a post-event report, you will not be eligible until the issue is resolved.

How we evaluate applications

Applications are reviewed by the Recreation & Culture committee using the Wrenford Arts and Culture Policy guidelines. Preference is given to projects that:

  • Align with current Council priorities and community needs
  • Show strong public participation and audience development
  • Include matching funds or support from other sponsors
  • Have not received other City grants for the same project in 2026

The committee also looks at your organisation’s management practices, financial health, and strategic planning. You will normally hear back about your application within forty-five days of the deadline.

How to apply

Applications are submitted online through the Wrenford Business Portal. Please make sure you have all supporting documents ready before you start, as the form cannot be saved midway. You will need to upload your latest financial statement, a list of board members, a detailed project budget, and any letters of support.

The deadline to apply is April 2, 2026. Late applications will not be accepted. If you need an alternative submission method due to a disability or technical issue, contact the programme officer at least forty-eight hours before the deadline.
