How to pay for parking

If you are visiting downtown for work, an event, or to support a local shop, you can pay for parking easily. We use a mobile app and pay stations located throughout the downtown core. You do not need to carry cash.

Pay with your phone

Download the Wrenford Pay app on your phone. It works on both iPhone and Android. You can start, extend, or stop your parking session right from the app. You will also get a reminder before your time runs out.

Use a pay station

If you prefer not to use an app, you can use a pay station. There are stations on Mercer Street, Tamsin Street, Water Street, and around Market Square. They accept coins, debit cards, and credit cards.

Scan a fast-tap sign

Look for the blue and white signs posted on poles in the parking zones. Use your phone camera to scan the code on the sign. This opens the payment page on your web browser. You do not need an account to use a fast-tap sign.

Hourly rates and time limits

  • Short-term parking: $2.00 per hour. Maximum 3 hours per session.
  • Evening and weekend parking: Free after 6:00 p.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends.

Monthly and visitor permits

If you park downtown regularly, a monthly permit saves you money and guarantees a spot. You can apply for a permit online or at the Downtown Transit Terminal.

  • Monthly resident permit: $65.00 per year. Available to people who live or work in the downtown core.
  • Visitor permit: $10.00 per month. Allows your guests to park on your street for up to 24 hours.

Parking rules to know

Follow these rules to keep downtown moving and safe for everyone.

Winter parking ban

From December 1 to March 31, between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., you cannot park on main downtown roads. This lets the city plow and treat the streets safely. Check the Service Alerts page for any changes.

Street sweeping

Street sweeping runs from April to May. Move your car on the scheduled days so it does not get towed. Schedules are posted on the Roads & Winter Maintenance page.

Loading zones

You can only stop in a loading zone for 15 minutes. You must stay in your vehicle and keep the engine running.
